This Privacy Policy explains how Workpaper Studio LLC (“Workpaper Studio,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit workpaperstudio.com (the “Site”) or use the Workpaper Studio Excel add-in (the “Software”).

- The Software does not collect background usage analytics or telemetry.
- The Software performs limited network requests for licensing and update-related checks.
- Settings are stored locally with the add-in, and license cache files are stored locally in your Windows user profile.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide to us
We may collect information you provide directly, such as:
- Support communications: your email address or phone number, message content, and any attachments or details you choose to include (e.g., screenshots, Excel version/build, error text).
- Purchase-related communications: if you email us about purchasing, licensing, or invoicing, we collect your email and the details you provide.

2.2 Information collected automatically on the Site
When you visit the Site, we may collect limited technical information such as IP address, device/browser type, pages viewed, and referrer/exit pages.

Website analytics and session replay (GA4 + Microsoft Clarity): We use Google Analytics to understand website traffic and improve the Site. We also use Microsoft Clarity to capture how visitors interact with the Site through behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replay. This helps us identify usability issues and improve content and navigation. Clarity may use cookies and similar technologies to provide these features. Analytics and replay tools remain disabled until you opt in through our consent banner. 2.3 Information stored by the Software (local-only)
The Software runs locally in Excel and stores settings locally with the add-in. License cache files are stored locally in your Windows user profile. The Software does not collect background telemetry.

Network communications: The Software performs limited network communications for licensing and update-related checks (including startup and periodic validation). The Software does not collect background usage telemetry.

2.4 Payments and checkout
Purchases are processed by a third-party Merchant of Record (currently planned: Lemon Squeezy). The provider collects and processes payment and billing information (such as name, email, billing address, and payment details) according to their own privacy policy. We do not receive or store full payment card details.

We may receive limited purchase information such as purchase confirmation, product purchased, license status (e.g., active/expired), and transaction identifiers.

2.5 Email communications
We may send transactional emails related to purchases, receipts, licensing, or product notices. We do not send marketing emails unless you opt in. If we introduce an optional newsletter (e.g., Excel tips), it will be opt-in and include an unsubscribe mechanism.

3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries
- Provide purchase confirmation and license-related assistance
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Site and Software
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and security issues

If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate.

9. Children’s Privacy
The Site and Software are not directed to children and are not intended for use by children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last Updated” date and post the updated version on the Site.
